Description
San Diego Habitat for Humanity, Inc., is currently developing Libby Lake Village, consisting of 20 single-family, for-sale homes on a 2.67-acre parcel located at the corner of North River Road and Calle Montecito. Each unit will have 3 or 4 bedrooms, one full bath, and one three-quarter bath. The initial sales price will be affordable to families with incomes of less than 80 percent of the area median income. Five units are at or below 50% AMI; five units at or below 60% AMI; five unites at or below 70% AMI; and five units at or below 80% AMI. The City of Oceanside will help fund this project and the homes will stay affordable for 55 years. This is the largest development SDHFH has ever undertaken and we are excited to be partnering with the City of Oceanside and our carefully selected design team to create this unique neighborhood model.

SDHFH selects families based on three criteria:
1. Demonstrated need for improved housing: for example, poorly maintained rental unit, overcrowded conditions and/or cost of rent that is over 50% of total gross monthly income.

2. Willingness to partner with SDHFH: Each family must be willing to complete 250 hours of volunteer “sweat equity” per adult applicant, attend homeowner education workshops and be an active member of the condominium homeowners’ association.

3. Ability to pay a monthly mortgage Your family must fall within the following income guidelines for the past two years:

Jimmie Johnson Foundation & Habitat for Humanity homes - El Cajon, Ca

Thanks to the many volunteers and donors for your heartfelt support of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation & Habitat for Humanity homes in El Cajon. SDHFH is currently building the first of the four homes! We hope to have the remaining three homes finished by next summer.

Volunteering- We will be blitzing the first of the four homes this summer. We would love your help with the construction of the three remaining homes. Building will begin in September 2008. We will be able to accommodate 10 volunteers per day, Tuesday through Saturday. Volunteer sign up will be done on a first come, first serve basis. With volunteer labor, donated materials, and the full support of the City of Carlsbad, San Diego Habitat for Humanity is building one eleven unit condominium.
